OTHER DETAILS Manufacturer Provided Description The NPY39 has many of the same desirable features as the 43’ including a spacious, full beam salon, excellent pilothouse visibility, solid construction and an extensive standard equipment list. The pilothouse is critically important to comfortable travel in bad conditions and was designed so the North Pacific 39’ could be piloted confidently with an unobstructed view. Halogen lights, light up an adjustable and recline-able captain's seat in front of a teak steering wheel and raised dash for electronics. The helm seat is positioned on the starboard side of the vessel. This makes docking especially convenient since one of the two pilothouse doors is directly beside the helm seat. Visibility from the pilothouse of the NP39 is not only excellent forward, but also very good aft because of the open space between the salon and the pilothouse; giving the captain a full 360 degree view when driving. A 5’ bench seat for observers, complete with a hinged table, helps to make long range cruising an enjoyable experience for everyone. The bench seat also easily converts to a single sleeping berth by extending 2’ on the end and becoming wide enough for sleeping with a hinged leaf. Sliding doors on both sides of the pilothouse make access to the bow and fly bridge easy, and at the same time can provide a nice breeze while underway. Morse engine controls, engine gauges – including a fuel totalizer - bow thruster control, windlass control, tank tender, horn and electronics of your choice will be set in the black background trimmed with teak; making an impressive control center for the yacht. Additional Description At the stern of the yacht there is a fully covered cockpit which can be accessed from the flybridge ladder or salon. The cockpit is a great place to get some fresh air and still stay dry. There are two transom doors from the cockpit; one leading to the swim platform and the other on the starboard side of the cockpit, making it very easy to get on and off of the vessel. The swim platform is expansive and is large enough for a couple chairs making a great place to enjoy a nice sunset. The swim platform is also an excellent place for fishing or installing a dinghy davit. A large well-lit lazarette is accessed through a hatch on the cockpit floor that is easily lifted on gas struts. The lazarette utilizes the entire length and width of the cockpit and even extends into the integrated swim platform. This provides an enormous amount of space for extra equipment (freezer, watermaker) or storage. Additional Description We wanted to ensure that the NP39 had a spacious full beam salon just like the NP 43. With a minimum of 6?8? headroom throughout, both yachts are very roomy. By making the walkway to the bow from the stern above the salon we were able to build the salon walls nearly to the edge of the hull, maximizing the useful living space, while not loosing the ability to get around the yacht. Seven windows (4 of them opening) give lots of light and allow for a nice panoramic view. Contributing to the spacious feeling, the NP39 has 20? of open space between the top of the salon cabinets and the pilothouse. When standing in the salon you can look right out all three pilothouse windows making the salon feel even larger. On the starboard side of the salon there is an L shaped settee and high-low table. The settee quickly and easily pulls out into a comfortable bed for two. There is storage space underneath the entire length of the settee as well as a cabinet at the forward end for extra storage. This is an ideal place to install an entertainment system but has also been carefully designed so that it is large enough to accommodate a washer-dryer unit. The salon is well-lit with ample halogen lighting and reading lights in the corners. The light on the teak gives the salon a very warm, dry and comfortable feeling. Across from the settee, running the length of the port side of the salon is the galley. A teak staircase leads from the pilothouse down to the master stateroom and head. On the port side across from the head are two cabinets and a shelf. This makes an excellent place to store linens and towels. The head is well-lit with three halogen lights, one in the separate shower stall, and one above the counter providing ample light. Inside the shower stall there is a comfortable seat, making showering safe and relaxing. Set in the countertop (marble or corian equivalent) is a stainless steel sink with a single handle chrome faucet. Three mirrors near the sink make the head feel spacious and one doubles as a storage cabinet. There two cabinets for storing toiletries. Most importantly, the head is equipped with a reliable Tecma toilet. The forward master stateroom is spacious and comfortable. It features a large island Queen V bed with a comfortable 5", fabric covered foam mattress and two individual reading lights along with two halogen ceiling lights. There is a large storage space under the mattress, two long drawers, and two hanging lockers. The stateroom is also equipped with two opening, screened portholes and an opening, screened Lewmar hatch above the bed. Additional Description The galley has ample counter space for food preparation and has well-lit solid surface (corian equivalent) countertops with raised edges. In the aft corner of the galley there are large double stainless steel sinks complete with a drain board in between. The clever corner design makes excellent use of the counter space. A single handle American Standard faucet and pullout spout makes clean up easy. Directly below the sink is a large drawer, perfect for storing garbage. Below the countertop, there are two large cabinets as well as four drawers, giving plenty of storage space for galley supplies. There is a shelf space for a microwave and teak storage cabinets above the counter at the forward end of the galley. A Princess electric stove is standard equipment on the North Pacific 39?; however, a gas stove is also available. With 3 burners and an oven, the stove provides a good cooking surface and there is still sufficient room for many other appliances in the galley. A Norcold refrigerator is standard on the NP 39, however NovaKool is also available. Additional Description The North Pacific 39? with its pilothouse and trawler style design gives the yacht a bold go-anywhere look. There is no wood on the outside of the yacht, only stainless steel and fiberglass. This adds to the rugged look, but also lessens the workload in maintaining these yachts. The hull mold for the NP 39 was made from the mold for the NP 43 which has proven to be a seaworthy hull. The hull is a deep V with the aft end of the hull rising into a hard chine with a flat back end and deep keel. The hard chines help to reduce the roll and the deep V eliminates any snap roll that could otherwise occur with hard chines. This hull is very desirable for coastal cruising because of its superb initial stability. The hull is a solid fiberglass hull about 1/2" thick on the sides and approximately 7/8" thick at the waterline and lower. There is no coring. A vinylester resin, as opposed to a cheaper polyester resin, is used on the outer layers of the hull. This resin helps to reduce the chance that blisters will form. Below the waterline is an epoxy barrier making blistering even less likely. Reinforcement is added with a molded FRP grid (hollow stringers) bonded throughout the hull bottom. The superstructure is made of fiberglass with structural coring as required (Nida coring on the decks). The hull and superstructure are formed in two pieces and are joined with epoxy and screwed through, forming a strong bond that lasts. The factory uses a time consuming, hand-laid method of forming all the fiberglass that results in a strong, quality finished product that lasts. Fly Bridge Access to the upper deck of the North Pacific 39? is via a ladder on the port side of the cockpit or up the stairs on either side of the pilothouse. The steps on the outside of the pilothouse to the upper deck mean that you can easily access the bow from the stern without walking through the cabin, unlike many other pilothouse models. On the port side is a straight bench seat and the starboard side is an L shaped bench that also has storage underneath. The single helm seat swivels to provide extra seating while not underway, a double helm seat is available but makes the space tighter. Engine controls, engine gauges (including a fuel totalizer), bow thruster control, windlass control, are standard on the fly bridge but you may choose to have the factory install navigational equipment purchased separately (Raymarine only).
